For 13 years, music lovers from all walks of life have spent the winter months dreaming about their June adventure to Manchester, Tennesee. On a 700 acre farm in the middle of nowhere, 80,000 souls gather at what they call ‘the happiest place on Earth,’ Bonnaroo. I am one of those crazed souls and numerous times I’ve tried to explain to a Roo virgin what the experience is all about. It’s much harder than you would imagine.
Most of the time it goes like this: “Well, you get really dirty, like you’ll have a dirt-tan line from your sandals, but the food trucks, you must have the fried green tomatoes, and there’s this big ass water slide, and once I was in the pit at Pretty Lights, and the random rave bungalow structure we found at 3 am, the Sunday afternoon Beach Boys set, now that was great, oh and don’t forget toilet paper, oh and there’s this giant mushroom water fountain to play in.” Yea, not ideal. Let’s just say that this festival changed my life. I got the symbol tattooed on my body. It has taught me above all, to Radiate Positivity.
There are far too many subjects to cover. Let the people at Already Alive educate you on the Bonnaroo Experience in less than 4 minutes in a much more organized fashion. Keep your eyes peeled for the lineup announcement for this year on February 19th!
Tweet me if you’ll be on the farm this June. #TrueRoo
