‘Rags To Riches’ is the third track in a row from Borgeous that I’ve been personally impressed with. A regular controlling the sound in Hollywood nightclubs, John Borger’s seems to be a byproduct of his surroundings. All evident by a certain sophisticated aspect influencing his original “trap music” productions.
It’s this demographic influence which has Borgeous standing out in the crowd. The tailored 808’s and promiscuous hip hop vibes are still there. However, the hood shaking, overused “ayyy”‘s and grunt samples are instead replaced by teasing prog-house buildups and swinging melodies preemptive to Beverly Hills dance floors.
