Forming the house music duo “The Two Friends”, Los Angeles producers Matt Halper and Eli Sones have just released a breathtaking remix of Lana Del Rey’s sultry tune, “Born To Die”. Already thrown into regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s BPM station, this remix adds a burst of energy to the original, transforming it from its mellow, downtempo state into a lively, and electrifying house track. Lana’s highly distinguished, and unique vocals are complemented harmoniously with an array of bright, and uplifting synths, accompanied by a punchy kick drum, and a catchy drop melody that will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. The duo seamlessly incorporates their own elements into the existing track, while still allowing the dark undertone of the original to show through at certain moments.
The Two Friends will definitely be ones to watch this year, with their distinctive style, and adeptness at producing within different genres having already earned them lauds from some prominent figures in the dance music scene, such as Krewella, Felix Cartal, and Sidney Samson. Their debut EP, entitled “You (Me)”, also dominated the Beatport charts, reaching the #4 spot for Progressive House releases back in February.
Amongst the plethora of Lana Del Rey remixes out there today, this one most definitely stands out from the rest. Check it out, and grab it for free below!
