Insomniac’s newest label offshoot, In / Rotation is off and running. After announcing the label and it’s first release from Dombresky, they’re back with another hit from Born Dirty. Focusing on releasing free tracks and supporting emerging artists, they’re now two for two with their first two releases. The track High is a collaboration between Born Dirty, the duo comprised of Son of Kick and Linden Jay, alongside the vocalist Jaw and the french heavyweights, Cassius.
“High is hybrid track fusing all our influences across different styles, it’s like Afrika Bambaataa meets Tom Waits meets Tron but with 808 subs to glue it all together.” – Born Dirty.
Born Dirty has been splitting their time between L.A. and London, while producing their signature hybrid sound between hip-hop, house, and techno, being brought to you by In / Rotation. They’ve most notably been heard on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, while also topping charts with their Miami bass anthem on the Dirtybird BBQ Compilation.
The song is a great mix of bassline meets breaks. Considering a lot of the sound and tracks coming out as of late, Born Dirty set themselves apart doing something different, and damn good.
