Today, Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee, known as the electro hip-hop duo Break Science of Pretty Lights Music, released their debut album, entitled ‘Seven Bridges’. It features 13 tracks of sonic bliss, showcasing Adam Deitch’s outstanding ability to implement drumming into a electronic setting and Borahm Lee’s way of making unearthly production and synth work that ranges from the heavenly to the absolutely raunchy. The duo have been working over a year on ‘Seven Bridges’ since their last EP ‘Twilight Frequency’ with Michal Menert. Their skills as musicians have evolved to another level with this release.
The album opens with some pure electro-funk on “Brain Reaction”, adding the vocals of Redman and Deitch’s hip-hop beat making to give it a definite old-school edge. The next few songs are slower, fuzzy journeys through sound, with “Now You Want More”, “Breath of Space”, “Way I Feel” and “Chronovisor”. “Trapeze” is a Break Science take on trap-music, featuring some rapping from CX and haunting synth bars in the background. “Look Into The Hourglass” is a dark, reggae-infused jam, akin to Break Science’s hit “Zion Station”. “Take It To The Floor” is a funky interplanetary journey, featuring the sultry sax-playing of Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic. “Connected” is a fast-paced jam featuring some fierce guitar riffs, and the album’s ender “Who Got It” is pure Break Science electro hip-hop. Fun, high-energy and in your face.
