Thanks to Bassnectar’s loyal following of bassheads, over $100,000 from the Bass Bank has been contributed to three charities creating informed, empowered, and healthy citizens. Lorin has inspired fans and leads by example using his power to give to the community.
The Dollar Per Bass Head concept is simple: one dollar of every Bassnectar ticket purchased gets donated to Air Traffic Control, a nonprofit that empowers artists to the make the most of opportunities for social contribution. Every time the ‘Bass Bank’ hits $50k, Lorin and his crew pick three organizations doing good things related to health, education, or community. He says checking out these nonprofits on bassnectar.net is “an awesome way to meet new friends and to explore life outside of the party.”
After the fans vote, the first place charity gets $25k, second place $15k, and $10k to the third finalist. This time around, the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Contact USA won bass bucks.
Nice to know that your blood-pumping, bass in your face, dance party of a night makes a difference.
