It’s a very saddening day for the normally wide-grinned Stefan Engblom of Dada Life. Through their website, Dada released a post detailing Stefan’s troubling emergency surgery:
We wanted to let everyone know that unfortunately Stefan has had to fly back to Sweden to have some urgent abdominal surgery. It has to be done now to prevent more serious conditions in the future, as of right now we don’t know the recovery time but will have a timeline from the doctors in the coming days and will keep you all posted.
For the upcoming shows this weekend in Miami, Las Vegas and Boise please note that Olle will be coming and playing a full Dada Life show.

For now the outcome looks optimistic, but the news is still shocking. Other notable incidents involving DJ’s and sicknesses include Wilem of W&W in June of 2013, Avicii in January of 2012, and deadmau5 collapsing on stage in July of 2010. Perhaps the most saddening event was Paul Baumer of Bingo Players being diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and passing away just months afterwards.
For now we send our best wishes to Stefan so that he can return to doing the Dada sooner rather than later. Keep it posted here for more updates Stefan’s status.
