The New Orleans-based music festival, Buku Music + Art Project, have released their final artist lineup, which reveals another dose of sick artists from a variety of backgrounds and influences. Personally, I am PUMPED the Float Den stage includes Carnage, Clockwork, and Griz. All three artists exploded in 2013, so there’s no telling what goodies they have in store for Buku Project.
New Orleans is packed with artistic history; to watch musical dynamism happen so quickly, thanks to Buku, feels like history occurring in front of your eyes. Carnage, Clockwork, and GRiZ each come from different corners of the EDM universe, but each artist brings colorful elements to Nola festival-sphere, elements that will forever live on in the spirit and history of the city.
Carnage
The Carnage lifestyle knows no limits, he’s party-ready 24/7 and always zones deep into his shows (even playing past 2AM.). His performance progresses more on the vibe of the night and less on the expectations of others. The exponential growth of Carnage in the last 2 years is unlike any other. In 2013, he was invited to play brand-name festivals like EDC and UMF after achieving several massive hits in late 2012, most notably “Spaceman (Carnage Festival Trap Remix,” which launched Trap music into the mainstream.
Clockwork
Clockwork will be awing audiences on the Float Den stage with his open-ended house sound. Clockwork, and his alter-ego, RL Grime (also booked for Buku 2014,) encompass hybrids of Dance sub-genres. His Clockwork persona features ambient, percussion-heavy house music while the RL Grime alias is more of a combination of Trap, Hip-hop, and Bass music.
GriZ
GRiZ has release two ground-breaking albums in a little over a year, “Rebel Era” and “Mad Liberation.” Both were was well-received, –especially in the mid-west– and significantly set GRiZ apart in elector-soul world. GRiZ style includes blending live instruments with his DJ set, adding phenomenal stage presence to his performance.
VIP Additions
As if this was not enough, Buku also announced a handful of artist who will perform exclusively for the VIP ticket holders aboard the S.S. Buku. VIP artist include Gaslamp Killer + Friends with PresHall Brass, Holy Ghost! (DJ set), Ana Sia, and Big Freedia will be dishing out twerkin’ lessons on deck.
