With past releases on Spinnin Records, OWSLA’s NEST HQ, UKF’s Pilot Records, Mad Decent, etc., BUKU made his WAKAAN debut in August 2020 with “What You See.” NOW BUKU makes his way back to WAKAAN for “Right Here,” the lead single from his forthcoming EP. Already having received acclaim from tastemakers across the industry, we know “Right Here” will make its way to the top of the charts and all over headbangers sound systems at lightning speed.
Pittsburgh native and graduate of Duquesne University’s Music Technology Program, Robert Balotsky aka BUKU is a well-equipped architect of twisted, layered soundscapes. BUKU combines deceptively simple and emotive melodies, laden with resounding low-end and intricate drum patterns. His work reflects his passion – delivering percussive elements only a trained ear could produce with a love of drums rooting from childhood. It’s no surprise he’s hypnotized us all with four minutes of life into the wobbly cosmos with his latest “Right Here”. “Right Here” starts with an eerie intro, leading us into a sonically bass-filled ride with punishing drops and roaring techno kick drums, leaving listeners in a hypnotic state, a beautiful result of BUKU’S past musical influences.
