I don’t think there was a picture taken all weekend that more accurately describes the festivities of day two at Camp Bisco Eleven. The lineup for all three days was so complete it was difficult to decide which stage to run to first. It was a long three days with little rest and a lot of raging. We kicked off day two at 3:00 under the Label tent to check out Killabits for the first time.
Killabits
Fresh off our camp ground we went straight to the Label tent where Killabits provided a set layered in heavy dubstep. Zeds Dead had us hyped on their set after they dropped ‘Bassmentality’ a tune featuring Killabits that had what seemed like thousands of people cheering. The hour and fifteen minute time slot flew by until they surprised us and everyone around us with a remix of ‘Levels’ that was completely unfamiliar. We thought levels was dead. We didn’t know how to react so we just kept vibin’ to the wobbles.
Emancipator (w/ Special Guests)
For a little while we traveled over to the B.I.G tent where we had spent a good portion of our time all weekend. I’m glad we checked out what Emancipator had to offer because it was a very special set. Muscians Bonobo, Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic, Gabe Lehner and Eric Poline of Inspired Flight, as well as Molly Kummerle of Paper Tiger came together providing a live jam session. When Dominic Lalli took the stage everyone went wild, his loud saxophone rang through the speakers. He was definitely a fan favorite special guest and had unintentionally overshadowed the other artists. But over all It was an hour and fifteen minutes of magical collaboration, a very special treat.
3LAU
Seeing 3LAU’s name on the Camp Bisco lineup this year was very exciting. He quickly gained the title ‘Mash-Up King’ obtaining a very desirable set time under the B.I.G. tent. Rightly so he brought amazing energy into his performance, the more his set progressed the more impressive he got as people piled in packing the tent. He dropped a couple older mashup tunes which was extremely refreshing. The track selection was fantastic, the records he played kept the crowd dancing. It would be an understatement to say 3LAU’s set was massive. Just the other day he released ‘Dance Floor Filth 2’ his new mashup album. We are excited to announce that we have an interview coming up with 3LAU this Sunday at Global Dance Festival Colorado, so stay tuned for that.
Dada Life
Due to some issues with the visuals it took Dada Life a while to get their set going. Once they began they were instantly forgiven, they opened with ‘Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker’ which set the tone for an amazing party. The bass smashed you in the face distorting you mind immediately sending you into complete dance mode. Songs like ‘The Big Bad Wolf’ (Dada Life remix) and ‘Rolling Stones T-Shit’ completed the performance. This duo are hands down one of the best performers live, jumping around, throwing bananas, and hyping up the crowd is their specialty. It wouldn’t be a Dada Life party if there wasn’t huge blown up bananas and champaign. They closed their set inviting us to ‘Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker’ one last time.
