Update (March 13th 11:00 PM): SXSW has official released a statement about the tragedy that struck outside their event early March 13th.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the tragic accident that took place last night here in Austin,” SXSW said in a statement issued overnight. “We appreciate and commend the first responders, as well as the city agencies who so quickly sprung into action. We will be making schedule and venue changes for programming in the surrounding area of last night’s events. All other programming will continue as previously scheduled.” – SXSW
Currently a 21-year-old Texan man has been charged with two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle. In a press conference Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said that police had attempted to pull the man over before he sped down the street.

Update (March 13th, 2:00 PM): DutchNews.nl has reported that one of the two people killed in the fatal drunk driving accident at SXSW last night was Steven Craenmehr, creative director of Massive Music. Standing outside the Mohawk venue on Red River Street, Craenmehr was struck by the intoxicated driver who swerved around a festival barricade to escape police.
Founded in Amsterdam, Massive Music is an agency network that produces and composes music for global brands, such as Adidas, Coca-Cola and Volkswagen. Their site has been temporarily shut down in honor of Craenmehr, who they describe as “an unstoppable force, full of life, love and laughter.”

March 13th, 2014 (3:00 AM EST): It has been reported by CNN that 2 people have died and at least 23 are injured after a vehicle ran a barricade outside the SXSW music event in Austin, Texas this morning, March 13th. The accident was recorded as happening at roughly 12:30am CT on Red River Street outside the Mohawk says RYOT.com.
Multiple news outlets have reported that the injured were taken to hospital and five are in serious condition. According to CNN and the Austin Police Dept the alleged drunk driver is in custody.
Servals fans have said that Tyler the Creator of Odd Future was about to take the stage at the nearby House of Vans when the accident happened.
