Cash Cash is coming off of a very successful run with their remixes, mashups and podcast (“Royalty Radio”) garnering them a huge fanbase but now it’s time for them to give us more of their own original sound. Staying true to their fun and lighthearted sound, the trio’s Lightning EP is exactly what you need pumping through your speakers while you’re driving around with the windows down as warmer days roll in.
The first single, “Lightning” elicits the infamous vocals of Goo Goo Dolls frontman, John Rzeznik, and it couldn’t be more perfect. Following their knack for muddling rock vocals with electronic chords as seen in their “Safe and Sound” remix, this track is powerfully emotive and charged with positive energy. Just hearing that familiar voice conjures an unequivocal sense of nostalgia that begs you belt out the lyrics as if you already knew every line.
The other 4 tracks shed new light on old favorites from their Overtime EP. Boasting remixes from auspicious talent including Qulinez, Häxeri, Candyland & DotEXE and Patrick Hagenaar. The following tracks complete the remix/single compilation with a contrasting final touch that gives a sound dynamic to the package.
