Critics are claiming that Catz ‘n Dogs’ newest release Rave History will be known as the ‘ultimate finale piece’, so expect all the events you attend over the Christmas period to finish with one of these two tracks.
Rave History showcases electronic dance music for what it is: the sound you listen to when you’re deep underground surrounded by brick walls and sweaty bodies, but you’re enjoying it. Both tracks are evocative and start off with a bass-heavy groove, essential for any electronica or downtempo sound and the Life Mix twists it to become something more energetic with the addition of kicks.
Beatport explores the album’s ‘choral pads, cascading FX, dramatic one-strike piano notes, splashing cymbals and that almighty vocal sample that comes with one essential message every single one of us can raise our sweaty hands and hug strangers to,’ so these tracks definitely provide the feels.
