CharlestheFirst Leads Us “Out Of The Dark” With New Single

Showing us that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, CharlestheFirst drops “Out Of The Dark”, the first single off his upcoming LP, Solus. CTF fans have been patiently waiting for new music since the release of his No Dimmer EP last year, so to say we are stoked is an understatement. AND on his own birthday, no less!

A native of the beautiful Lake Tahoe, Charles Ingalls is known for being heavily inspired by nature, creating ambient soundtracks that emulate those feelings of peacefulness that then burst into unexpected twists and turns that take over your entire body in whatever ways you let them. His style, while somewhat difficult to define, is incredibly distinct and versatile, as he meshes electronica and hip hop to tell stories through his music. Paying homage to his musical origins, he proves to be a brilliant lyricist, poet, and rapper, which can often be heard throughout his other tracks and collabs.

Fans were treated to a preview of “Out Of The Dark” during his Room Service Music Festival virtual set by the same name, which premiered on YouTube back in April (the set itself is fire and the visuals are nuts, so we definitely recommend to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet!). The track opens with slow, soothing beats that grow into a layered melody before picking up the tempo and plunging into a warped bass break that commands our attention.

In the past 4 years, CTF has appeared on the lineups of many prominent festivals like Okeechobee, Shambala, Electric Forest, and Sonic Bloom. More recently, he was going to join Of The Trees with headliner CloZee for a drive-in show in Southern California in just a few days, but that event has since (very responsibly) been cancelled due to rising COVID-19 concerns.
