Cherub, the Nashville based electro-pop duo consisting of guitarists Jordan Reese Kelley and Jason Huber, has given us our first taste of its much-anticipated major label debut. Criminally underrated outside of viral smash “Doses and Mimosas”, these two are about to turn plenty of heads. The Year of the Caprese is set to drop May 27th, and I for one couldn’t be more excited.
Currently out on the Blow’d Tour, Jason and Jordan create an atmosphere of high energy, sexy, disco-fueled dance goodness. “Disco Shit” is no different, encompassing all of the sex, drugs, and rock & roll that Jason and Jordan have set out to bring to the people from day one. A not so subtle ode to the powdered party fuel that often pervaded the clubs of the 80’s, where Cherub has found much of it’s musical inspiration no doubt.
Pick a new song, you will realize love is always easy when Cherub’s on your mind. With a bouncy bass line, catchy synths, straightforward lyrics, and an infectious hook; ‘disco shit’ is just one more hit in a string of bangers that will certainly see their Soundcloud plays spike when The Year of the Caprese drops.
Stay still….. I dare you.
If you haven’t had a chance to catch one of their live sets, do yourself a favor and figure out if they are playing nearby. With a blend of guitars, talk box, falsetto pipes, and drum pad; it is impossible not to have a good time. You will thank me later.
