1. Mat Zo @ The Mid: Friday, June 6, 2014
Chicago didn’t make the list of cities for “Kill The Zo” featuring Mat Zo and Kill The Noise but Zo will do some Damage Control by making a solo stop at The Mid. Since Damage Control‘s debut, Mat Zo’s popularity has grown tremendously. Fans can rely on Zo to play a diverse set of sounds and it keeps music lovers coming back for more. 2. Disclosure “Wild Life” @ Lincoln Park Zoo: Wednesday, June 11, 2014
Disclosure’s “Wild Life” series is sending the brotherly duo around the nation to play with their favorite artists. Each show is completely different and are one-time only features. With only two cities on their tour, Chicago should feel very lucky. The “Wild Life” concept will become very literal for Chicagoans since the show is set to take place at Lincoln Park Zoo. The show is sold-out but you can find tickets on Stubhub and Craigslist.
3. Spring Awakening Music Festival @ Solider Field: Friday, June 13-15, 2014
It’s time for the gates at Solider Field to re-open, but this time it won’t be for the Chicago Bears. It will be for the music lovers looking to rage with their favorite DJs. This is Spring Awakening Music Festival’s third year in Chicago and this year is projected to be their biggest summer yet! Headliners include Chicago’s own Kaskade, Tiësto, Diplo, Pretty Lights, Knife Party, and Big Gigantic. 5. Afrojack @ Navy Pier: Saturday, July, 5, 2014
Celebrate your Independence Day weekend with Afrojack at Chicago’s famous Navy Pier! Nick van de Wall’s career has gone a long way since his start back in 2010. It’s crazy to think that his debut album is just now being released! Fans will be able to dance to all of his hits outdoors at the East end of Navy Pier. 6. Phish @ FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island: Friday, July 18-20, 2014
Spend an entire weekend with jam band innovators, Phish. Known for their unpredictable, immersive, massive, and exciting live performances and their blend of musical genres, extended jams, and improvisation, keeps the fans coming back for more. 7. Pitchfork Music Festival @ Union Park: Friday, July 18-20, 2014
Are you always searching for the best underground and emerging artists out there? Head over to Union Park to enjoy the festival made for the “hipsters” of music. Pitchfork hosts around 50,000 fans every summer and the atmosphere is incredible. For a very reasonable price, you can enjoy a weekend full of warm and inviting and vibes mixed with amazing new music.
