Church Tour 2016 is underway. BTSM, a Canadian electronic trio, might be recognized by their state-of-the-art tiger helmets, but also unique, dark, electronic music, which certainly extends outside any usual DJ routine. These three perform as a central mixer, a keyboardist, and a drummer, with a special light setup synched to their music. They began producing together back in 2011, with the release of their Drama EP, which soon led to their performances at festivals such as TomorrowWorld, Electric Zoo, Lollapalooza, Electric Forest and many more.
Opening for the trio is Apashe, a 21-year-old from Brussels, and Dabin, from Toronto, Canada.
With Bassnectar’s recent New Years’ extravaganza in Birmingham, AL, the Birmingham scene is currently on the rise, with recent acts appearing such as Paper Diamond, Liquid Stranger, Bleep Bloop, Yheti, and many more. Black Tiger Sex Machine is making many stops throughout the Southeast, one of them being Birmingham, AL at Zydeco on April 9.
Zydeco is the second oldest entertainment venue located in Birmingham Five Points South, and it houses various talented artists on their trips to Birmingham. I have been to countless shows at Zydeco, and love the venue because of its easily accessible chill areas and bathrooms, outdoor patio area with ample room, and the cooperativeness of security.
Zydeco books very gifted artists at a very moderate price. Tickets for a regular bass show range from $12-$25, but it’s best to get the pre-sales because they do sell out fairly quickly! Zydeco will continue to be a favorite of many because of its amenities and rich history. BTSM at Zydeco on April 9 will be a great addition to their roster.
