For DC natives, like myself, this track comes just in time for another late night at the area’s rumbling cave of a music venue, U Street Music Hall. The DJ owned and operated club will play host to its very own, Tittsworth alongside Destructo tonight and I guarantee that if this remix is a precurser of tonight’s set, things are about to get weird.
This remaster of Ciara’s “Body Party” is quintessential of Jessie’s seemingly innate ability to take the soul of a song and completely discard all else, leaving it almost unrecognizable. Even Ciara’s vocals have been disfigured by Tittsworth’s sinister take on the track and Future’s appearance on the original is missed entirely on the rework.
Generally, I like to say remixes “breathe new life into the original” but in this case Tittsworth’s remix is better equated to waking the dead for a zombie apocalypse. Get ready. It’s about to take over.
