Between the release of his latest album “Urban Animals” and his 25 show tour in support of it, it’s amazing that Claude VonStroke found the time in his schedule to create this Essential Mix. This is the Dirtybird maestro’s second mix for Pete Tong’s radio show (his first one aired in 2007), and just like his first mix, this one definitely does not disappoint.
The first half of the mix is made up mostly of tracks from VonStroke and other artists on his Dirtybird label, while the second half is more breakbeat, non-four-on-the-floor tracks. Overall, it’s a very well-constructed and super funky mix, and it shows that Claude is still one of the best when it comes to Techno. Hopefully we don’t have to wait four years for another one.
