When a legendary DJ like Jesse Rose asks you to remix one of the tracks on their farewell album, you agree. At least if you’re Claude VonStroke you do. Jesse Rose has been at it for more than 20 years, and has helped pave the way into some of the dance music sound we all know and love today. 2017 marked the finale of his producing and DJing career when he announced his farewell album Alright Mate which dropped earlier this year via one of his multiple labels Play It Down.
Well if you’ve been paying attention, you will have noticed Claude VonStroke, the leader of the Dirtybird’s has been heating up your campground, afterparty, and all other dance floors this summer with a deep little edit to Jesse Rose’ track “Believe,” a bassy house number that teeters on the edges of funky disco. Claude has taken the track and transformed it into a Dirtybird enlightened weave of deep basslines and eerily satisfying synth waves with a sample of the original lyrics lightly thrown overtop. If you haven’t been lucky enough to hear it burning through your local dance floor, be sure to add it to your playlist so you can feel one with the Claude father.
