When you first begin your decent into McCarran Airport and you see the lights on The Strip, that’s when it really kicks in. You’re here. EDC Week has begun, and you are about to have the time of your life. Our adventure really began once we arrived at The Light Nightclub for Claude VonStroke.
For those of you who haven’t been there before, just take a look at this from our previous post once again. Lights, camera, BOOM!

When we first arrived, we were greated by the funky antics of Deep Jesus and Mikey Lion. These guys know how to keep it funky and fresh. Take a quick glance at these two chaps going b2b that night and you can see how:

One way to describe Deep Jesus would be “sexy as hell bass” (yeah we know, we know), but seriously, get a taste of his most recent mix and you’ll understand what we were delivered, and why you need to check him out along with The Desert Hearts crew on their Endless Summer City Hearts Tour.

But don’t forget Mikey Lion, because this Desert Hearts beast was alongside Deep Jesus the whole way, with his eclectic attire, and enough tech house feelz that had us almost falling on the floor.
These jokesters played a great b2b starting set and really got those muscles loosened up and ready to roll for the big bird himself, Mr. Claude VonStroke.

And when the big bird is at home, you don’t want to miss it. We could go over everything that he played, such as dropping one of our favorites tunes that he always plays just at the right moment:

…or his classic twisting, turning, building, and bwomp bwomp bwomp bwomp bwomp “Make a Cake”:
But we don’t even need to bother. In short, it was funkalicious. The crowd was completely into it, and that’s about all there is to say other than, you needed to be there next time. You’ll have your chance all summer with Claude’s residency at The Light Nightclub to get out there and see him, so make it happen. And don’t forget, you won’t only hear a great selection of tracks from his favorite artists and his own, but also his kooky anthems with GET REAL (Claude VonStroke & Green Velvet), because when tracks such as these are played, it will be, and was for us that night, the most unified freak out moment of the entire night.
The Light Nightclub once again has proved that they’ve got the artists and the venue to make an amazing EDC Week, or any other time of the year that you’re in town. We’ll be back very soon, and so should.
