The emerging duo known as Coach & Ref unleash their evocative debut single, “3-D.” Featuring the breathy, sensual, and energetic vocals of Brooke Tomlinson, the release encourages breaking free from society’s obsession with polished virtual-reality skins to momentarily engage with one in actual, real-time, three-dimensional humanity. In a flurry of retro-futuristic sounds and thumping beats, the duo opens a space between indie and pop.
Comprised of Bleu, a Berklee Graduate and distinguished artist, songwriter, and producer, and Daple, A songwriter, producer, and composer and graduate of the Eastman School of Music, the collaborative project began as a journey to experiment with recording equipment and techniques. Coach & Ref possess a collective resume of writing scores for films such as Easy A, Friends With Benefits, and Vampire Diaries, and penning platinum and gold tracks for the likes of Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and the Jonas Brothers. Given their history and this new project, it’s safe to say we will be seeing more of this duo soon enough.
