Dreamgirl is set to be an extensive and thorough EP from the likes of duo Colson XL and solo artist ero808. The first single revealed from EP is title track ‘Dreamgirl,’ which gives a fascinating look into the direction of the EP as a whole and where the trio of talents are at mentally with music in 2021. A blending of soulful-pop on the vocal and trap-elements in the beat, a moment making experience is transmitted quickly. Many elements play into the infectious nature of the track, from the fluid arrangement, to the stuttering drops, and impressive cut-up vocals. “Dreamgirl,” leaves a ton on the table and triggers a sense of wonder of how the rest of the EP will unfold. The full-length drop is set for August 26th.
Colson XL kicked off the alias in 2019 with something to prove. Their sound often shows off tantalizing basslines, clever ambience, and always comes equipped with meaningful writing. The style in motion with their songs making it hard to predict the direction the sound is going – a fun feature. Embracing genres of future bass, trap, and indietronica, they’ve captured a sound that’s all their own. Cole and Harrison, the two who make up the duo, have had a near 2-decade long friendship which unequivocally plays as a positive in the confident music they make. Having records signed to Sable Valley, Elysian Records, Phuture Collective, and Bonsai Collective, their contribution is a positive force in the scene.
Boston based ero808 doesn’t come without is own strong qualities worth sharing. He’s inspired by hip-hop and Latin urban sounds. At age 11 he began writing his own music. Ableton became his forte in his teen years as his walk with electronic music began to become more clear. Today he’s a father, musician, and a lover of live who has conquers past negative experience and dreams big for the future.
