L.A. DJ/producer DATSIK, brought down Chicago’s Concord Music Hall’s ceiling early this morning during his set on his Digital Assassins Tour. Around 2 A.M., dust and debris began to fall on concertgoers who were located on the third level of the venue. The incident left four fans injured. Three were taken to local hospitals while one refused to be transported. Police state that the injuries were minor.

The collapse had occurred only 10-15 minutes into DATSIK’s set last night. The Digital Assassins Tour featured a one-of-a-kind “Vortex Lumen” created by V Squared Labs. The vortex displayed innovative 3D mapping technology and was paired with a some killer sound reinforcement. The vortex was equipped with 50,000 watts of PK sound. PK Sound is one of the leading sound system companies and is known for providing some of the loudest speakers.
Concord management have officially released this statement,
“Concord Music Hall has voluntarily agreed to close until further notice due to a section of plaster falling from its ceiling during a show last night. During this time, Concord will fully cooperate with all City of Chicago officials to ensure that there are no ongoing concerns for the safety of its patrons and its employees.”

DATSIK released two statements for his fans immediately following the incident via Twitter.
While many concertgoers were left distraught and distressed following the incident, DATSIK made sure to reach out.
Eyewitness News in Chicago was told that 1,000 people had attended the concert and there was no word on whether or not Concord Music Hall would refund all of the patrons. This incident has also cancelled the highly anticipated surprise show from 12th Planet on Sunday. This surprise show featured support from Prototype, Herobust, Porn and Chicken, LoBounce, Stratus, and Steady. There was no cover for 21+ attendee’s and 18+ were charged a small $5 fee. React Presents, Chicago’s leading production company, reassured customers that the show may be rescheduled.
