CounterPoint Music and Arts Festival is a new three-day festival in Atlanta, Georgia. Kicking of their inaugural year this September 27 – 29, 2012 CP has announced a series of Atlanta-based partners, which will allow them to tap into the city’s impressive culinary, arts and entertainment scenes.
Local Culinary Initiatives
CounterPoint will be showcasing some of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants, food trucks, and breweries, they are taking festival food offerings to another level. Leading the charge will be D.B.A. Barbecue, with both a full barbecue menu and its branded D.B.A. Puddin’ Pops cart. Additional restaurants and food trucks include: The Pickle, Pie For The People, Tijuana Joe’s, Mobile Marlay, Fry Guy, Healthy Nut Truck, Thai BBQ, Brusters, and Rita’s Italian Ice. More details on the CounterPoint Beer Garden and further food options will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Art Initiatives
Greg Mike will be painting and curating a visual arts installation throughout the festival grounds. Greg Mike is the owner of ABV, Atlanta’s contemporary art gallery and creative agency. AVB focuses on street art and pop surrealism, they will be bringing ten exciting artists together to paint installations covering over 1600 square feet of wall space. In addition the installations, festival goers will be invited to stroll through the CounterPoint Arts Village to check out art, crafts, and a variety of merchandise from Atlanta’s creative community and beyond.
Music Initiatives (Silent Disco)
Last but not least, CounterPoint is excited to announce the lineup for its Silent Disco presented by Music Unlimited. The experience will feature enhanced headphones to showcase an array of local performers, including Atlanta-based Merzy Me, DJ Airwolf, V3rsatile, DJ Pat O’Brien of 99X’s Voltage Radio, Sugar Kayne, Ira G, Ten.Sense, MK Ultra, Patrick Morgan, Ployd, Syl O, Rrrump, RL Shine, and Luis Valencia. Additional performers from outside the Atlanta area include, Skrause, DJ Mel, Spankalicious, Futexture, Thump, Up Until Now DJ set, and Immuzikation. CounterPoint has also added Rhythm Monks, The Mad Violinist & the Crack Orchestra, and Stokeswood to the inaugural lineup.
The multi-stage festival will be held at the location of 2007’s The Echo Project, a 350-acre, scenic Chattahoochee river front property located 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta, Georgia. CounterPoint’s aim is to bring the city to the festival site, and they will. Elements like preferred viewing areas, multiple VIP levels, and luxury camping options will be available. Also daily express shuttle service to and from Atlanta, as well as day parking will be offered for guests who don’t wishing to camp onsite.

Three-day passes are on sale now for $165 online at the CounterPoint website or by calling 1-888-512-SHOW (7469). The amount of 3-day passes at the advanced ticket price is limited, with prices increasing on September 15th.
For those that cannot attend all three days, single day tickets are now available at $59 for Thursday, headlined by Big Gigantic and Beats Antique, $89 for Friday passes headlined by Bassnectar, Avicii, and M83, and finally $89 for Saturday passes headlined by Skrillex, Pretty Lights, and Steve Angello. Depending on availability tickets can be purchased at the gate for $185.
All-inclusive VIP Experience and Platinum Experience packages are available, starting at $365 and $565. Single Day VIP passes are available for both Friday and Saturday at $169 a piece. Prices are inclusive of all fees. Don’t wait to much longer, these tickets will go rapidly!
