According to the Rome News Tribune, things will be changing this year for CounterPoint.
No more car camping.
According Kevin Earle, marketing director, he stated:
Taking vehicles out of the equation makes for a more intimate experience for the fans and a more cohesive community at the festival.
Let us hope that the car parking will not be as far away from the actual campsites. We don’t need another ‘Trail of Tears’, aka Tomorrowworld camping.
Stage direction and sound level adjustments. Music stops at midnight on Sunday.
As with all music festivals, there will always be people that complain about the noise levels into the night. Counterpoint was no different last year with local residents going to twitter to complain. This year, Counterpoint will adjust stages, sound levels, and will stop the beat promptly at midnight on Sunday night.
We want to become a part of this community for years to come and making sure that we cause as little inconvenience to the neighbors is a top priority of ours. Adjustments to the direction of the stages and sound levels will be made, but most notable will be the lack of late-night music on Sunday night.
New exits and entrances for all attendees.
Last year it was a long and winding road to get to parking and camping that was backed up for quite some distance depending on what time you arrived. This is great news that will hopefully help to facilitate a faster and easier way to get in to the action.
Lineup and tickets for CounterPoint 2015 will be announced this month so stayed tuned for more information.
