Coyote Kisses ‘Thundercolor EP’ is the kind of music that roams free from criticism regardless of genre preference. Four songs total, you couldn’t ask for anything more than this for your summer soundtrack collection. The duo has been silent for almost a year and this is the finely crafted result:
- ‘Diving At Night’ is deep and organic, a tone setter for sunsets, hangovers, and early morning waves. Everything good about the little things in life.
- ‘This is How You Know’ is the cooler, more oxygenated, tropical version of something from Nero’s ‘Welcome Reality’. It’s a soulful dance party in the sand and you’ve got a pineapple mojito in your grips.
- Imagine a melodic, guitar dominated ode to rock and roll. ‘Changing Guard’ is the ideal wind down from a night of true american wreckless abandon.
- And then the glory of them all, a liquid soulful anthem of bass called ‘Stay With You’. It reminds you that everyone’s got a little love in ’em for the dirtier wobbz.
I haven’t felt this way about a full EP or album since Emancipator’s ‘Dusk To Dawn’. It’s different in terms of energy but in the realm of “good for the spirit” both are exceptional.
