Known for his global dance hits like “Breathe” and “Voice of Silence,” Cristoph has now dropped his lush and long-awaited remix of The Temper Trap’s classic production “Sweet Disposition.”
The Newcastle native adds his own haunting and melodic touch to the Australian foursome’s original take, beautifully mixing in the hypnotic vocals that give the track a familiar feel, but entirely fresh new vibe for today’s scene.
Cristoph said: “The whole track came about because of a slight obsession with the original vocal. I wanted to make a personal edit for my own sets. I sent it over to Eric Prydz who played it that day at Escape Festival in America. Videos emerged on the internet straight away so we sent it over to a select few DJ’s, one of which being Pete Tong who opened his BBC Radio 1 show with it.”
The now iconic original first got introduced to dance revelers when the mighty Swedish House Mafia produced a unreleased big room remix back in 2013. While it was fitting for their tour and festival sets back then, dare we say that Cristoph’s rendition is much more our speed these days, and one that will easily resonate with club kids in years to come.
