What’s good rafters?
I’ve got two crunk’d up, fresh sounding glitchy-dub tunes to share today by artists Freddy Todd and S.P.E.C.T.R.E. (keep an eye on these guys, I have a good feeling about their sound)
Freddy Todd – hailing from Dubtroit, Michigan – born into a musically talented family, Freddy dropped out of college at 19 and instead decided he would take over the world with his glitchy hip-hop infused beats. A natural musician, he has been apart of numerous jamtronica bands and has released two full length albums and 4EPs under his belt.

S.P.E.C.T.R.E. – “brings a diverse mixture of bass heavy music combining glitch hop, dubstep and beyond with a flare for the unexpected. His seamless blending of styles and tempos and on the fly mash-ups has made him a crowd favorite in Colorado. Co-founder of the Jungle Labs & BassLab crew and a member of the Denver Bass Squad, S.P.E.C.T.R.E. has built a large following from the infamous Jungle Labs warehouse parties, regular nights at Denver’s Beta Nightclub, and his mixtapes on the Temporal Fusion podcast. Expect nothing short of an all out assault of crunkadelic party music.”
crunkadelic party music indeed…

This is what the collaboration sounds like:
[audio:https://raverrafting.com/audio/i-crunkd-tha-kidz.mp3][audio:https://raverrafting.com/audio/space-cowboy.mp3]These tracks represent some of my favorite glitch production techniques: hip-hop sampling, stuttering, gater-sounding buildups and glitched out drops. The track: “Honey I Crunk’d tha Kidz” is sure to get the hip-hoppers up on their feet when they catch a glimpse of 50 cent’s Disco Inferno placed over a catchy drum line, accompanied by some wobbling crunk’d up bass that smacks you in face. “Space Cowboy” uses a similar sampling style, perfectly chopped and screwed lyrics – especially like what they did with the ’cause I’m a space cowboy loop… they even have some really surprising scratching mixed in there perfectly. It’s unique the way they created an intense break down section by scratching on top of the audio then dropping it into straight filth at 3:42 – I really like this track and the elements they have going on here. Both of their styles compliment each other and blend together seamlessly – I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some more collaborations in the future, these tracks were put together in a weeks-time!
“This 2 track EP was written in a week when Freddy stayed at SPECTRE’s studio in Denver a few months ago. Enjoy this new cross-continental, Detroit to Denver collaboration!” – S.P.E.C.T.R.E.
