Rap superstars Cypress Hill and dubstep producer Rusko have teamed up together to release a brand new EP on June 5th. Earlier this year they released the single “Roll It, Light It” from this EP and it hit the top of the charts on Beatport within a few days. The first track “Lez Go” starts out slow and synthed out and later drops as Cypress Hill throws down some verses. This song sets the mood for the entire album.
“Roll It, Light It” defines why everyone used to love Cypress Hill for their clever lines about smoking. “Shots Go Off” has more of that crunchy heavy bass that Rusko is known for being the master of. So who doesn’t love some dub reggae? The next track “Can’t Keep Me Down ft. Damien Marley” has jammy reggae syncopated with Rusko’s wobbly bass that you can’t help but groove to.
The album ends in a boom with the crazy dance track “Medicated ft. Young De” which is much more up beat than the rest of the tracks on this album. Rusko’s last tour date in the US this summer is Electric Daisy Carnival so catch him there to see if he drops these new tracks live!
