It’s unclear why Japan received the “Horizons” bonus track with their copy of Random Access Memories. Maybe before music was so widely distributed on the internet would this make sense, but then again after debuting the album in Wee Waa we were reminded that nothing about Daft Punk is ordinary.
Supported by an acoustic guitar, the track is a downtempo, ambient work that fits properly on the album.
It seems that the internet has really divided into three separate contingents when rating the new album.
- Blinded by fan boy-ism, they have no opinion other than RAM is awesome
- Intricately produced, statement album that changes the dance music genre again
- Very good by itself, but not quite epic
As you’ll see from the poll hosted on this site, most people agree with me and the third option. What’s your opinion on Random Access Memories?
