Nile Rodgers leaked the details on his blog that a new Daft Punk single would be coming out sometime during August, with similar timing to his charity performance.
There’s going to be me, my band CHIC, and some of the hottest acts and surprises on the planet that day… which happens to be around the time the next Daft Punk single drops (I’m just saying).
When you start touting hottest acts and surprises, everyone’s mind is automatically going to Daft Punk because of the strong connection between them and Rodgers. However he’s strongly denying it even writing on Facebook, “To be totally clear, Daft Punk is not playing at my charity event.”
What single he’s talking about, we’re not quite sure, but we know that it is Rodgers working with Daft Punk again for unreleased Chic material.
Rodgers told DJAZZtv,
“Daft Punk wants to do at least one of them with me, so that should be very cool. Because they respect the music, they understand.”
Here’s one of the better “Get Lucky” remixes that I’ve heard yet. Mysto & Pizzi completely rework the original while also adding their own vocal lines.
It has that hard-electo feel that was missing off of the album and the track is surging now because Kaskade dropped it at Roseland Ballroom yesterday. It doesn’t get much better than that for Mysto & Pizzi.
