For me Episode four of Daft Punk‘s ‘The Collaborators’ series is the deepest. Pharrell speaks the truth and you can clearly hear the soul in his voice. The story about how ‘Get Lucky’ got started is so organic, it’s unreal. I’m glad that he further explained the meaning behind their first collaboration.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, ‘Random Access Memories’ is going to put the soul back into dance music. Like P.W. said, everything right now is just too synthetic – which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But when you start hearing the same synth lines, presets, and chords, recycled over and over again. It starts to make you wonder, what happened to the creativity?
