Daft Punk fans should definitely be feeling lucky, as it has just been announced that the iconic dance music duo are set to give a performance at the 2014 Grammy Award show in January. This will be their first televised performance since the Grammy Award show in 2008, and executive producer Ken Ehrlich has told Rolling Stone that it will be “a collaborative and celebratory stage performance that honors their multi-nominated music.” He continued his statement to say that:
“Conversations took place over a period of a couple of months, and finally they agreed to be a part of this year’s telecast. Details of the performance are still being worked out, but the idea of having the exclusive television performance by this iconic band is something we’re very, very excited about.”
Daft Punk are nominated for four Grammy awards this year; Best Dance/Electronica Album, and Album of the Year for their long awaited album, “Random Access Memories”, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group performance and Record of the Year for their hit tune “Get Lucky”. This certainly won’t be a performance to miss, with Daft Punk being one of the most influential groups in electronic music history. Be sure to watch when it airs on January 26th at 8pm EST on CBS.
