The Herald Sun and triple j are on record saying that Daft Punk will host their “global album launch party” in Wee Waa, Australia. Wee Waa has a total town population of 2,000 and no one has ever heard of it until now.
Inthemix looked up the registration records yesterday and daftpunkweewaa.com was registered by Sony Entertainment. As of now the event is set for May 17th and 4,000 tickets are being sold. That would effectively triple the population of the town for a night.
Even if you’re a native from down under, Wee Waa is about 8 hours from Sydney without an airport. Road trip of a lifetime anyone?
