After the show was broadcast on CBS, the duo’s Spotify streams increased by a prodigious 200%, their innovative and distinctive album, and Random Access Memories shot from #51 to #3 on Amazons MP3 bestsellers ranking. To top it off, the duo’s massive hit tune, Get Lucky, made it onto Shazam’s top 5 “tracks purchased” tally.
Daft Punk made a very bold statement at the award show, having won all 5 Grammys that their work was nominated for, including ‘Album of the Year’ (trumping Taylor Swift, Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis, and their likes). They also gave their first televised performance since 2008, which featured 70’s legends Stevie Wonder, Pharrell, and Nile Rogers. Now with a total of 7 awards, these wins leave the duo as the electronic act with the most Grammys.
