The lastest installment of Daft Punk‘s ‘The Collaborators’ series features an interview with Panda Bear. He speaks on his record with the robots, ‘Doin’ it Right’, as well as Animal Collective, Daft Punk’s ‘Around The World’ music video, and electronic dance music. Bear says that ‘Homework’, the first Daft Punk album, was one of the few things that him and his brother could agree on.
Something I like a lot about Daft Punk, every album seems to be completely different. I feel like they challenge themselves to kinda go some place new. It was cool for me to see that, a little bit how they went about crafting the sounds. How instead of sampling an old piece of music it was like, recording things in an old way to make something that kinda sounds like it was sampling something old. But which in turn kinda makes it sound new, if you know what I mean.” – Panda Bear
