Two weeks ago, the Shiiine On Festival brought a host of globally renowned acts to the city of Birmingham. However, our story takes place at the Hacienda After Party. With headliners Todd Terry and Marshall Jefferson, Genting Arena was sure to take a turn towards classic dance music.
However, even with the previously mentioned legends on the bill, an opening set by up and coming artist Dan Fulham perked up our ears. The Dublin born and bred deejay grasped the opportunity to open for dance music icons and made the most of the spotlight.
His briskly paced half-hour set spans house, disco, and funk and shows his versatility on the decks. Featuring crate digging selections, Fulham shows his knack for unearthing classic tunes that are still influencing dance music. Only someone with an extensive vinyl collection built up over several years could put together a mix of decades old songs that sounds this fresh.
Dan will be deejaying throughout south west England for the next few months. He’ll also be deejaying at the Shiiine On Weekender Festival in Butlin in November(Tickets).
