On January 4, Darius Syrossian took to social media to vent his frustrations with The BPM Festival, getting physically assaulted by security and generally to complain about his privileged life.
He’s a successful DJ that had to pay for his own flight. There was confusion getting him to his hotel. He had to GASP pay for his own taxi ride.
After that a few people weren’t on the guest list and they had to pay too. Miscommunication can occur and is easily resolved. Easier when you’re a DJ. This all could have been worked out after the fact, but in this case it didn’t.
All of the buildup lead to Darius Syrossian’s temper flaring and unfortunately he directed this anger towards the wrong person. In this case it was female staffer that he made cry.
So The BPM Festival escorts Syrossian out. The versions of the story are a little different, but Syrossian claims that he has a broken knee cap and two broken ribs.
And that’s where both Syrossian’s credibility and our story end.
It’s insane that Syrossian expects people to empathize with him because he was left at the airport and had to make a big boy decision and find his own means of transportation.
The BPM Festival didn’t respond to Syrossian’s text message, they must be the worst run event in the history of the world!
Seriously though, it’s Mexico… maybe the messages weren’t getting through?
But let’s not forget that Syrossian claimed that he has a broken knee cap and two broken ribs.
One is obviously more severe than the other. If he posted pictures in the hospital (something that normally happens when you break a few bones), then this is an entirely different story.
Unfortunately it’s not.
And dear Darius if you’re reading this please don’t see it as an invitation for self-harm.
Complaining about a music festival should be a crime
The logistics for running a music festival are absolutely mental. Rarely do organizers get to experience any share of the elation experienced by the attendees. They’re usually running or golf carting around and screaming on walkie talkies keeping everything flowing.
Can you imagine what it takes to manage all of the artists / vips / lists / etc that The BPM Festival has to handle!?!?!
I can’t.
Most of us will adapt to a situation so that we can enjoy and revel in the moment – rather than create problems based on our giant egos.
No ride? Find one. No guestlist? Buy a ticket.
Instead of making a scene, we’ll make it happen and raise the issue later at an appropriate time.
It didn’t happen here and the sad part is Darius keeps ranting on his Facebook Page. So from WhiteRaverRafting.com, the self-proclaimed best music blog in the universe – just give it a rest mate.
It’s a poor reflection on you and the countless hours that you’ve spent building your successful career as a true house music dj.
Let’s forgive and forget so that we can all get back to the music.
get it right here
