Recently another troll article circulate the web, this time accusing Guetta of a pre-recorded set that he was forced to walk away from when his self-help cd ended up getting played. A ton of DJs and shitty EDM blogs shared the article, leading many to think it was actually true. Yes, people still believe everything that they read on the internet.
While I first dismissed the article as a ton of nonsense, Guetta apparently thinks it was part of some sort of smear campaign used against him in the DJ Mag Top 100 voting.
I wonder why each year at the moment of the dj mag vote, there is always a fake story on me playing a pre recorded set.is it by accident?

Being #1 in the DJ Mag voting is a prestigious award no matter what anyone says. Almost every single DJ on the planet would love to be in the first slot. Veterans like Guetta, Tiesto or Armin aren’t going to cede the title easily to people like Avicii or Hardwell (our prediction for #1).
I didn’t want to promote myself this year for dj mag but those haters/ liars/cheaters make me want to do it. Go to djmag top100 and vote!

Now Guetta is using that fake article to promote his campaign. Flipping the script on the story gets us talking about Guetta, while he re-affirms that he doesn’t actually play pre-recorded sets or listen to self-help cds. I don’t know that voters even care if he did just press play when he takes the stage, Avicii admitted it in a GQ feature and it had zero effect on his credibility with casual fans. Maybe Guetta secretly runs the wunderground.
People should know that to be successful, there is no need to try to destroy creative people. Just spend your time being better yourself

His final comment on the issue addresses the “haters issue”, but it’s interesting that he specifically calls himself a creative person. Arguably Guetta’s creativity fell off when he switched to making basic formatted pop music.
What’s important here?
Whenever someone says, “I don’t care about the dj mag top 100” they care… a lot. Also if you troll David Guetta, he’s going to read it.
