Arizona’s largest New Year’s Eve gathering, Decadence Arizona invited festival goers to celebrate a ‘Decade of Decadence‘ on December 30 & 31 at the Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. The 10-year anniversary festival introduced a new theme, Age of Indulgence and elevated the event grounds with embellished stages, art installations, and performances from EDM’s most notable acts.
Decadence hosted musical performances across two main stages, Grand Palace and Royal Ballroom, along with smaller stage setups like the Beatbox Playhouse, Quiet Quarters Silent Disco, and The Bazaar. The two-day festival presented a shining lineup of talent including dance music tastemakers, deadmau5, Deorro, Dom Dolla, Eli & Fur, Excision, John Summit, Mau P, Svdden Death, Troyboi, Tchami x Malaa: No Redemption, and more.
Day one of the festival commenced by exploring the venue and all of the activities and activations being offered. We started the night with a quick photoshoot in front of the gold glistening Decadence sign, stopped at the on-site “post office” to send off postcards to our besties, and danced our way to the three-channel silent disco that served up an indulgent treat of genres. Next door to the disco was The Bazaar, an interactive space with DJ’s on the decks, old school arcade games, a glamour station, many brand booths. and sightings of the Weird & Wonderful cast.
Our first set of the night was from the London-based duo, Eli & Fur at the Royal Ballroom. They brought elegance and warmed up the stage with their melodic house and techno. The remainder of the ballroom lineup was dedicated to bass with fan-favorites taking the stage, Wooli, Eptic b2b Space Laces, and Svdden Death.
Grand Palace shined with back to back performances from dance music’s most notable acts including the return of Tchami and Malaa‘s No Redemption collaboration, deadmau5, Dom Dolla, and closing artist, Excision. deadmau5 was our top artist of the night. The legendary artist upped the production and showcased his extensive discography including the classic, “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff.”
Day two of Decadence Arizona: Age of Indulgence is always the best. The vibes are high as we are all anticipating what artist we”ll be ringing in the year with. There were two countdown sets to choose between, Crankdat b2b Riot Ten for their Dog Eat Dog set at the Royal Ballroom or John Summit at the Grand Palace. After years of going back and forth between the two stages, Grand Palace is the place to be as it’s the only stage that does the ball drop. We’re also huge John Summit fans and Relentless Beats couldn’t have picked a better artist to close out 2024.
John Summit opened his set with “Where You Are” and kept energy alive with his hit remix of The Temper Trap‘s “Sweet Disposition.” The ten second timer appeared on the screen and the moment we’ve all been waiting for was upon us. Summit played “Go Back” leading up to the countdown with the drum and bass drop to hit right at the strike of midnight. The bass dropped, the balloons cascaded across the crowd, and we were showered in confetti. This was our 10th year at Decadence Arizona and Summit was our favorite countdown set to date!
Happy 2025 RaverRafting fam!
We’ve been attending Decadence since its inaugural year in 2014 and watched the festival grow from a single-day and single-stage event inside of Frontier Hall at Rawhide Event Center to now a full-fledged music festival at the Phoenix Raceway with multiple stages, event activations, and top-level production. It’s been a pleasure being able to spend our NYE at Decadence and celebrate this milestone anniversary.
