It is definitely a change seeing a deep house track at number one on the Beatport Top 100, but let’s give credit where credit is due. ‘Lovebreak’ by Tube & Berger and Milan Euringer is a fantastic record, the type of tune that modern electronic dance music fans might not be used to hearing. Unfortunately deep house isn’t as prominent in the festival or club scenes as progressive and electro house are, but I’m delighted to see the genre getting attention. Kaskade shared the same sentiment about this breakthrough:
He quickly followed up with this tweet:
He makes a very good point, there are many genres of dance music that are still unfamiliar to the modern festival/club goer. Although many people may not care to explore what else is out there. As a music lover who likes to stay on top of trends, I see the more frequent appearance of deep house, tech house, and even minimal in the Beatport Top 100 as a step in the right direction for the dance music in general. Who knows how heavy the exposure to these genres will be, maybe we’ll be grooving to hour long deep house sets on large stages at our favorite festivals and clubs in the near future. Only time will tell. Until then, enjoy this lovely song and download it on Beatport.
