One of South Korea’s leading producers, Demicat has been breaking into the electronic scene with his unique sound that has separated him from your average joe producer. Some of his productions have ventured in the trap realm while others blend bass with hard hitting trap drums to create a unique sound you’re bound to fall in love with. The difficulty in locking down a specific genre with Demicat is exactly what has fans so intrigued by his releases. It comes as no surprise that he’s amassed quite the following in Seoul as his productions speak for themselves and will leave you wondering what in the hell fire just graced your ears. It will be only a matter of time before his productions spread like wildfire in the States.
Demicat’s latest content is his “Oredorok” EP that was released yesterday and is a true testament to his natural production capabilities. Each track brings you on an individual journey through culture and nationality. Our favorite track off the EP is undoubtedly “Spirit Moves”. An explosive drop that brings roots from trap and bass leave “Spirit Moves” as one of the most creative productions on the EP. Another favorite of ours is “Light” and “Blue”. “Light” features uplifting vocals from Neon Bunny and brings a fresh dose of future bass paradise straight to our ears. It’s similar to the original production of “Kai-Wha” which also stems from future bass roots. The only other track featuring vocals on the EP is “Blue” and they’re provided by New York City based singer, DUVV. The track delivers oriental sounds in addition to specially crafted drums that perfectly compliment the vocals.
To sum it all up, Demicat offers a distinct sound in this latest creation that is a unique crossover of multiple genres. It’s innovative, well produced, and just all around fire.
