From the mind of LA producer, DJ, and promoter Gary Richards, Destructo has been a household name in electronic music for the last three decades. After creating the impactful EDM festival brand HARD, Richards has gone on to operate All My Friends, a prominent production organization that throws a variety of immersive events. As an artist, Richards has led Destructo to the top of the music world, collabing with the likes of YG, Basement Jaxx, Kevin Gates, E-40, Denzel Curry, and more.
Having created hits in hard techno, merging hip-hop and electro-house, and experimenting with other genres, Destructo returns with his highly anticipated EP, Future Funk. Speaking on the compilation, Destructo shares, “my dad ran a nightclub in New Orleans in the 80s called the Famous – these tunes are a tribute to that era with a futuristic spin on it. I’m bringing the Funk back to House in 2023.” The EP encompasses mind-bending basslines and vintage samples that keep listeners on the edge of their seats.
Throughout Future Funk, Destructo joins forces with a selection of top-tier artists, such as TroyBoi on “You’re The One For Me”, along with Tima Dee and Chromeo on “F With Me”. This innovative project has already received support from the industry leaders of Martin Garrix, Alison Wonderland, and Diplo. By diving back into past sounds, Destructo’s Future Funk opens new doors for the future of EDM.
