It looks like fans will just have to wait a few extra months for the release of Dillon Francis’ album, as the producer/social media comedian has just revealed to inthemix that it won’t drop until July. In the wake of the highly successful release of his new collaborative track with DJ Snake, “Get Low”, Dillon’s label felt it was best to give the tune some time to get around before dropping a full length album. A few months ago, Dillon announced on his Facebook that he was expecting the album to be out in March, however he confirmed some changes to this timeline at Australia’s Big Day Out festival in the following statement:
“My album isn’t going to come out in May because of the album strategy that we have, so now it’s been pushed back ’til July, which is kind of a bummer. It’s all like these weird semantics of labels that they have to have this release structure – which I understand now, but at the beginning I didn’t. I’m kind of bummed, but I get it.”
He then reassured fans by divulging that he has some new music on the way, stating; “I have a couple of singles after [‘Get Low’] and then in July – which is now for sure in July – my album’s gonna come out through Mad Decent.”
Dillon has already had a pretty phenomenal start to 2014, having made a noteworthy appearance at Holy Ship!, had his signature track featured in a Super Bowl commercial (with none other than Ellen DeGenres, might we add!), and having dropped a mind-blowing Triple J Mix, entitled “Get Low”. Things aren’t going to be slowing from here for Dillon, with him being set to play at Ultra next month, and a scheduled performance at the Austin X Games in June. There is no doubt that this next album will be a real game-changer in the dance music scene, and fans will definitely be waiting in eager anticipation to hear some of the new tunes he has in the works.
