Dimensions Festival returns to Fort Puntana Christo in Pula, Croatia this September 5th – 9th. Dimensions is an underground electronic music festival, with last years debut event gathering critical acclaim from around the world for its forward thinking lineup and unparalleled sound systems.
By day you have the chance to chill out on the beach and listen to the daytime sessions or you can jump on one of the many boat parties taking off from the harbor. When the music ends during the day, the festival really begins. But first you’ll first have to navigate your way through the abandoned military fort where Dimensions is hosted.
The festival boasts higher technical sound systems than any other event of its size, with each rig being specifically designed to enhance the deeper ends of electronica, house, deep dubstep and drum & bass.
Dimensions co-founder Noah Bell and Neuron Audio‘s managing director Kyle Marriott talked with Cool Hunting to describe the festival’s unique sound systems.
What is a defining feature of the Dimensions sound system?
KM: Attention to detail and an uncompromising approach. Sound providers are hand-picked and almost have to earn their spot at the festival, by impressing some of the most discerning ears in the industry. It’s also a great field for trying out something new in a beautiful location with a welcoming crowd. The fort has been privy to some world firsts in the past, and that tradition is set to continue into the future.
NB: Clarity and having a little bit more volume and body than you will find at most festivals; our location means that sound restrictions that hinder many festivals due to people living nearby do not apply to us as much. People are always complaining nowadays that the volume at festivals is far too quiet because sound restrictions impact them so much. For this we are really fortunate.
This year they’re focusing on optimizing the sound for each individual on all of the boat parties even though each boat only holds 200 people. This attention to every single precise detail has Dimensions in such high regard when it’s only the second year.
Tickets for the festival are still available now for £145 with accommodations ranging from private villas, holiday homes, hotels, hostels or nearby campsites. All bookings can be done through the Dimensions website, with the full balance due on booking. Compared to other European festivals, accommodation and ticket price is much more affordable.
