VNSSA has been one of those artists coming in the for the kill throughout the past year, from being one of the first names announced for Dirtybird Campout 2018 to recently slaying the Woogie Stage for Lightning in a Bottle 2019 and now heading into EDC Las Vegas with four sets scheduled for the weekend. Austinites cannot wait to get sink their teeth into her set on June 1st at Carson Creek Ranch for Dirtybird BBQ Austin. VNSSA is sure to shine amongst the top player of the Dirtybird Records family, including our lord and savior Claude VonStroke, Shiba San, Walker & Royce, Christian Martin and more.
We first caught wind of this rising producer when her collab track with Walker & Royce “WORD” dropped late March this year. Afterwards, we quickly started digging and fell in love with the rest of her discography, ranging from that quirky tech house bounce that is signature Dirtybird to her take on acid house and the grittier grandeur of techno. See her duo project The Sunday Club track, “Heavy Metal”, to get a taste of her dark side.
VNSSA wasn’t always a DJ, but started off as an indie band drummer. Having grown up learning how to play multiple instruments, switching to the other side of things came natural. In 2014 she realized that spinning the decks was the path for her, from DJing in local clubs to having two year of producing under her belt, what now lies ahead is pure success. Not only has she been releasing incredible tracks like her latest, “Wavy”, with Steve Darko and “This and That” with Eric Mark, but she has created a devilishly good duo project with Mark as The Sunday Club. With releases on highly praised labels like Psycho Disco, Dirtybird, Sweat It Out, Late Night Munchies, HotBoi, Insomniac and Dim Mak, we can’t imagine what else she can do.
A year and half later from her start, the rising producer has quickly made a nest for herself in not only the hearts of Dirtybirds but also between the ears of tech house addicts across the country. From opening for tastemakers like Chris Lake, Claptone, Billy Kenny, SNBRN and many others to now coming into focus for fans within such a short amount of time is honestly incredible.
