It’s been a rollercoaster of a summer, from epic festivals like EDC Las Vegas, to endless parties in Ibiza with a flood of techno and tech house tracks that have made us yell TECH YES all summer long. Although we only have two more “official” weeks of summer left, the releases are still going strong, and today, Dirtybird has unleashed more Summer Funk, making the phrase “can’t stop, won’t stop” more of a reality.
With the newest EP, we are given two veterans and two newcomers to Dirtybird. Weiss returns after his Change Dat EP which had us “Charlie Brown”-ing, and now has us “Bouncin” with funky synths, underground beats, and contradicting samples which simply work. Lord Leopard returns after Clash of The Tight-Uns with Eats Everything with “As Gospel” delivering an addictive non-stop house beat that will have the shufflers losing their feet over it. Newcomer to Dirtybird, but absolutely not to the scene, Lee Walker, who we all know from his remix of “Freak Like Me” brings forth “Rock Climber” which is a nonstop barrage of escalating synths that will have you on top of the Eiffel Tower by the end. Last but not least, Fred Ireland, aka Bump Ugly, hailing from London introduces himself to us via “Lost My Mind” which is filled with bleeps and bloops that ride along a funky Dirtybird bassline that we can never get enough of.
