Previously known songwriter Katie Farrah Sopher has come out with claims that the lyrics for three famous Disclosure releases “Latch,” “White Noise” and “You and Me” along with an Alunageorge single, titled “Attracting Flies,” were stolen from her without consent.
Sopher has said that Sean Sawyers, her “violent ex-boyfriend,” stole her songbook which contained the now-hit material in 2009 – the lyrics were said to have been inspired by her abusive five-year relationship with Sawyers. Sopher furthered her claim by stating that Sawyers passed her work on through the music industry without her permission.
In addition to those claims Katie Farrah Sopher is seeking £200,000 in damages.
Sean Sawyers has released this statement:
“I am denying all the allegations … There is zero truth to the claims made against me. I never saw the book the claimant mentions [so] I could not have committed the alleged damages, theft, (and) copyright infringement.”
