DJ Magazine out of the UK just released the results to their Top 100 DJs for 2011. The biggest take away is that emerging genres like house, electro, dubstep and glitch are taking away from trance music, which used to dominate the polls.
Somehow David Guetta was voted as the Top DJ in the World with Will.I.Am. and DJ Pauly D coming in second and third. Okay that part was a joke, no disrespect to Guetta but RLY DJ MAG!?!?!

Top 100 DJ’s Special Notes:
- 6 – Avicii aka Tim Berg cracked the top 10 beating out staples like Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex
- 30 – Kaskade my second man crush after Avicii, will be dropping his new dual album Fire & Ice next week
- 34 – Calvin Harris I expect Harris to have the biggest rise in 2012. You can only go up after doing a track with Rihanna.
- 42 – Steve Aoki the white raver rafting and crowd surfing asian breaks the top 50
- 96 – Porter Robinson the kid phenom made the cut which is remarkable for just coming on the scene
I’m catching Porter Robinson this Saturday at the new Baltimore Soundstage location, which should be pretty legitimate. There’s also an excellent opportunity to catch Avicii and Armin Van Buuren at the DC SuperGlow Event. I’ve been to a lot of events put on but Club Glow and they do a tremendous job with production, definitely worth the trip to the nation’s capital.
